  1. I hope to try tailwind tribe soon! I’ve wanted to but now knowing someone I trust their content makes this decision easier. I have been remaking my pins to be “pinworthy”. When you talk of sharing, are you referring to pinning others pins to your board or sharing on other social platforms?

    1. By sharing I mean sharing other peoples content to your boards. The more content you share and the more diverse content you share the better you’ll do on Pinterest. Just make sure you’re sharing to relevant boards. So in other words don’t share a recipe to a parenting board unless it’s specific to parenting…Like an article about five fun foods to keep kids busy on a rainy day. But if it’s a recipe for spaghetti don’t pin to a board about something else. So create boards with good descriptions in them and make sure you pin to relevant ones. Feel free to have a glance at my boards to get ideas.

  2. This are great tips! I know I sometimes skimp or hashtags or forget to add to the description. So important to have keywords in there. Thanks for the reminder.

  3. I always neglect hashtags, so I need to start using them and see if it makes a difference! I just NEVER search hashtags so it feeks unnatural to me.

    1. Yes I can totally understand that! It’s not the end of the world so I wouldn’t worry too too much if your keywords are there

  4. Wow! So many great tips! I’ll admit that I’m a little intimidating by Pinterest. But you’ve really laid out everything nicely and it makes perfect sense.

  5. These are all great tips. I see so many pins without descriptions and you’re totally right — I won’t repin them. I think that’s the biggest take-away from this post for me. Always add a description to your pins!

    1. You’re not alone! I think sometimes people don’t realize that Pinterest is a search engine. In order for a pin to be successful on a search engine, you have to tell people what it’s about! Otherwise, they don’t know if it is what they are searching for! Once people think of it that way I think they realize the importance of a description.

  6. Pinterest is like Mars to me. It’s foreign and hard to navigate. This was super helpful to me. I now know what to put into my pins and how to get them noticed. This was really valuable. xx

    1. Thank you Amylou!! Yes it definitely is a tough one lately! Everyone has said the same thing. But hopefully it will even out.

  7. Such great tips! I have pinned this post to refer to later – I feel as though I have a lot to learn from you! 🙂 Thank you for sharing, Diane!

  8. Great tips, I am not pinterest savvy and I just learned a few reasons why I am not seeing any result from my efforts there. thanks for sharing

    1. I am so glad you found it helpful Denise! I might do a post on Pinterest for bloggers as I am seeing a lot of people are having trouble navigating it, especially with the new changes!
