  1. Great encouragement here, Diana! I used to struggle with this, too (also an introvert). When I learned to “be real” with God and literally pour out my heart to Him – raw and sometimes ugly – it completely transformed my prayer life and deepened my relationship with Him. Over time, I’ve grown to long for time with Him in prayer when I go through the tough stuff. It’s only by His Spirit that this shift has happened because I could not make myself change. How grateful I am. We have a faithful Intercessor and such a gracious Father!

  2. I think you were reading my diary! Introvert. Bottling up feelings. A touch of anxiety! Thanks for a great post that spoke to my heart.

  3. Ugh, mice! We had mice in our rental as newlyweds, they can be noisier than you would think, right?! It sounded like they were rolling bowling balls through the walls lol. Thanks for sharing these thoughts and verses. As an introvert (with an independent streak), it’s nice to be encouraged by someone wirh similar thought patterns. I hope you feel better soon! Good luck on the house shopping!

    1. Thank you Katrina! Yes!! I cannot believe how loud these little critters can be!! I am glad the post encouraged you! It is always nice to know how other introverts feel!!

  4. There is currently a sign at my church that reads “Let prayer be your first response rather than a last resort.” This post reminded me of that sign. Good advice!

  5. Such a great reminder, Diane, and something I think we’ve all gone through. I like how you compared a child with their parent and how a child endures hurt and closes off from their parent. It truly is important to remember that we don’t need a fancy dialogue with God in those moments, but just to be real with Him like the Psalms show us.

Thanks again for sharing what’s on your heart!

  6. I would not describe myself as an introvert, but I have many of the same struggles. Sometimes I do turn to God and sometimes I turn against – feeling like “why are you letting this happen?”

I feel like maybe the hardest part is feeling guilty for turning away and not toward God. Not in the moment, but every time I hear people state that they grow closer to God in the hard times I feel “less than.”

So thank you for letting me know I am not alone!

We all process things differently right?

  7. Good luck on your house shopping. I am so sorry about the mouse. Ugh. I think it is easy to wallow in pain and hold it all in. I need to give God my stuff first, not last.
