  1. Such a good post! Loved it! We do need to look at our lives from a different perspective at times for chicks in our armor. Thank you for this good reminder!

  2. Great analogy, Diane, and such a needed message. Love the baby chicks story and sealing a gap so predators can’t get in. Every battle begins in the mind. If we fail to realize the enemy’s tactics against us, we are sitting ducks for every arsenal and attack in his tool belt. I used to downplay spiritual warfare, even as a wife to a minister. But that’s what Satan wants…for us to have no clue. This is powerful, “If we fail to change our perspective and see that the battle often begins on the inside, in our minds, it is like a watchman only looking for the enemy in one direction while they approach from another.”

We can be overcomes when we are intentional to prepare in our minds and keep our full armor on daily.

  3. Thank you so much for this call to vigilance. I think we have a tendency to live in a little bubble of obtuseness about all the risks and dangers, spiritually.

    1. Amen!! I know I do!! I tend to write from my own struggles and the things God is showing me so this is definitely an area where I need vigilance!! Thank you Michele!

  4. Putting on the armor of God — the full armor of God — is something that I brush to the side all too easily. I know it is good for me, and helpful, but I just forget about it as if it were insignificant. Thank you for reminding me of how important it is!

    1. Thank you Rebecca!! Yes!! It IS easy to forget and that is what the enemy relies on. He keeps us busy and distracted so that we do forget!

  5. Oh, my friend. Each week, your posts seem to hit me right where I need them. God’s timing is perfect. Thank you for the blessing of your ministry!

  6. I couldn’t agree more, the breastplate (to protect the heart) and the helmet (to protect the mind) seem to be often forgotten. However, a soldier would never go into battle with only weapons and not protection. It takes both to be effective in any battle. Love the line of setting a watchman to only watch one direction and allow the enemy to come up the other direction. Many Thanks 8)

  7. If only people really knew what went on my head. Ugh. I love listening to Joyce Meyer she speaks so much truth when it comes to the mind and the battle we deal with.

  8. Thank You as always for your valuable insight. Even for myself, sometimes I forget to check the most obvious places where I know there are gaps that would allow the enemy to infiltrate through my thoughts. This is why it is important to put on the armor everyday!

  9. The mind IS a battlefield, Diane. So is the heart— deceitful, who can know it? The heart is deceitful and the mind is deceived! Tweeted and pinned. Thanks for linking up at InstaEncouragements!
