  1. Sue I found this article very interesting and it will be helpful for me as I myself am wanting to get closer to Jehovah and I feel that when I pray I do not really dedicate that time to him solely. So thanks.

    1. I’m so happy that you enjoyed the post. Fasting can change your life and your faith! Thank you for stopping by!

  2. I’ve fast for the first time the other day I’m craving for more of God and I want to draw closer to him and seek His face.

  3. sue,I am really impressed about the way you explained to me the types of fasting,I quite remember when I was a lad I used to fast without food and water but now don’t even read my Bible or fast.Until this I have studied that my Faith and zeal to do these things is weak so I need guidance.Thank you very much.

  4. When I fast I fast 12am to 12pm one meal it’s easest for me that way I don’t drink or eat anything when I fast.God bless Terry Easter???

    1. That’s a great way to fast. Sunup to sundown is another great way – a bit more challenging but when hunger strikes, it’s a reminder to pray! Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Thanks for the post, it was simple and precise. I needed that type of guidance. I am a Christian for 3 years now, fasted with fruit and water from 12pm to 6pm. Was always conflicted whether I was fasting right by eating fruits. Now I know it should be vegetables as a partial fast. But I have grown spiritually as i dedicate my time to God in prayer and studying the word… thanks for the clarity!

  6. Fasting fulfills such a deep connection with the Father. I have a deeper understanding of who my Father is when I choose to deny myself and focus on God. Jentzen Franklin has great insight into fasting. I started with single day fasts, and built up to Daniel fasting. Writing a commitment to God keeps me focused and strengthens my spirit when I’m tempted.

    1. That’s the way to do it (to start with one small fast and work from there). I love that you write a commitment to God. What a meaningful time focused on Our Father! Thank you for stopping by!

  7. I too have found Jentzen Franklin’s books to be very helpful when I fast. I have been fasting for about 10 years on and off. The first time was a real experience, the third day Jesus fed me in my dream…..that was a wonderful experience. I’ve also had an experience with the vegetable and fruit for 21 days….that was awesome, my vision and hearing became clearer, not to mention I became closer to God. He had and has been using me to help others….To God Be the Glory…. I am now on my first day of another fast and came across your post very interesting. May God continue to bless you to bless us

  8. I am definitely going to try fasting again, before I would fast but not reach out to God,I pray and pray but don’t feel like my prayers are reaching God.I don’t read my bible the way I should because it’s a lot I don’t understand, but I try so hard to hear from God and feel is presents,Thank You for enlightening me on what fasting means and the different types
