    1. I have been struggling to understand it. Thank you so much it has opened up my eyes more about God’s Word.

  1. I didn’t know that about fig trees! It really shows how an understanding of context can make all the difference in understanding what at first glance looks like a tricky passage.

  2. Yes, I am not a lady but my only defense is that -there is neither male nor female in Christ! Lol—But I had to comment because you did such an outstanding job on this post! I am a preacher/theologian/PhD candidate in theology and I needed to tell you that the message is superb and really so well thought out! Thank you for sharing this and may the Lord continue to bless you!

    1. Thank you so much!! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to encourage with your comment!! And yes I believe neither male nor female is a valid defense lol

  3. Many a times when I read this verse I thought of why Jesus cursed the tree, at last He gave me the answer through you. God bless you with more of His knowledge and wisdom. Keep it up, thanks

  4. Great post! I don’t think I’ve ever actually thought about this before but it makes perfect sense. Also the pruning part I have always though my of as something painful, a lesson to be learned not just God changing my thought me about myself and old habits. Thank you so much for sharing this!

  5. Thank you for sharing this truth with us, “He cursed it because it had the appearance of fruitfulness, but it was deceptive. It lacked fruit.” So true, we can appear a way we are not. It is so easy to fall into that trap. Thank you for sharing with Grace & Truth LInk-UP. Your post has been popping up everywhere before my eyes. I am so glad I finally sat down to read it. Blessings, Maree

  6. I always learn something when I read your posts, Diane. Thank you for sharing this story of Jesus despising hypocrisy using the fig tree as a metaphor.
